Join The Fight For The Environment!
Fighting for the environment is a full-time job in every sense of the phrase. Every day, politicians and public officials at the local, state and federal levels of government make decisions that directly impact the environment in which we live. The amount of open space left undeveloped for our children to enjoy, the safety of our drinking water, the cleanliness of the air we breathe, and the character of the communities in which we live are influenced by developments in our towns, our state legislatures, and even in the halls of Congress itself.

Clearly a watchdog organization is needed to make sure that the public, and not just the big developers, is adequately represented in these political decisions.

At the Long Island Environmental Voters Forum, we believe that protecting the environment requires us to do more than to simply react to political developments as they unfold. Instead, we take a hands-on role in every step of the political process, actively working to recruit and support candidates that will protect the public's environmental interests, regardless of party affiliation.

Democrats, Republicans, Conservatives, Greens, and Working Families party candidates for office are interviewed and evaluated solely on the basis of which candidate will work hardest to preserve Long Island's quality of life. When we find the best candidate, we actively work to ensure their election. To accomplish this, we need the support of concerned citizens just like you, who realize that protecting the environment is not a special interest, but a public trust that we owe to ourselves and our children.

Want to join the fight to ensure that Long Island will retain its
beautiful open spaces? It's easy to get involved!
